April’s Whinings

All that was missing was the leeches.

Yesterday I cleared a jungle of bamboo. Shoulders and arms are hurting a bit today but the swamp doesn’t look so snakey anymore. I have about another week of work on the yard to have it presentable, last project is to spread bark on the cleared sections.

Fuzzy did more packing yesterday. Almost everything is now in the Hauliday Inn and ready to roll. I hope we get an offer fast, I don’t want to just hang around.

I ordered the new carpets from a local discount place, should arrive in about a week. I like the color, it’s much lighter than what is in the house now, should brighten up the place a bit.

Virginia is nice and spring is the best season here. A lot of people have asked how we can bear to leave this place, it is sylvan beauty at the edge of a city. But it just doesn’t suit us, we’re more the “motor roar over the dunes” type. The main thing we’re going to miss here is the local MINI club. Lots of good people that can’t be replaced made this area fun. The ones we’ll miss the most is the Behave family: Obe, Mis, and no. Love their screen names.
